Hi,
I am resetting up an ECS D6VAA dually with an onboard second IDE/ATA/RAID
controller, Highpoint 370. I am using WinXP pro SP2. I have had it up and
running before and now want to use it as a server, since it can handle eight
drives.

But, my problem is that I can't get the drivers for the controller to load
in windows. I get the message mentioned in the subject line. I have two
drives plugged into it now, just always used it as a second IDE controller.
The drives are seen by its BIOS at POST, I booted from my Western Digital CD
and it sees the other controller and drives and even reports the names and
sizes of these two drives.

I have had this working before, but why would win XP give me an error
stating that the .INF file(s) were written for win95 or later? I have used
the MB install disk as well as every driver I can find on the net with the
same result.

HELP, please getting desperate.

Ted

I know that board exists but I don't see it listed at the ECS site:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/Archive_Download.aspx?CategoryID=1&MenuID=82&LanID=9&ln=1

Perhaps you can find it and possibly a BIOS update and/or drivers that work.

Re: Error in .inf file, written for win 95 or later??!! please he

Finding the board and drivers is hard, but they're buried deep in there. But
I have found it, and have the most current bios version and the drivers from
that site still give me the same errors.

Thanks, but any other suggestions, please?

Ted
