Is there a regedit setting that allows task manager to end tasks without
having the annoying confirmation box pop up.

Maybe, maybe not. If you're killing the same task each time then
you could create a shortcut on your desktop to invoke taskkill.exe.
It won't require any confirmation.

Sorry, I now realise that you're running Win2000.exe. No taskkill.exe

one of the countless "kill.exe" equivalents:

download "kill.exe"
