I'm considering adding a second HD to my Windows XP Pro system and
installing Vista Ultimate. My system does pass the Microsoft upgrade
advisor.

Not sure exactly how to proceed with the dual boot setup and would
appreciate any and all advice.

TIA

Jim

there are a few ways to achieve this......I like this way because I can
chose which OS to start with right at the boot level and if I decide to just
keep one OS its not too much of a hassle.
install your 2nd HD and disconnect your first HD
Boot with the Vista CD and install onto that new HD.
When you have it working and setup the way you like shut down and reconnect
the old XP drive
This way each operating system has its own boot sector on its own HD....When
you boot your computer you can either enter the BIOS and set the boot order
according to which OS you wish to boot from or if it is a newer BIOS there
usually is the option to push F? during the boot process which brings up the
HD boot list and you pick which HD to boot from depending upon the OS you
wish to use.
If after a period of time you decide you no longer wish to "dual Boot" you
just format the unwanted OS/HD
Choice is yours
