WindowsXP not showing one of my hard drives. It appears in Disk management
but won't let me assign letter, only options highlited are Delete Partition
and help. It shows the drives name and has all the correct info, just can't
assign letter. Thier is a lot of info on disk I need so deleteing partition
is NOT a option.

I worked on a PC with a problem like that and I finally ended up using a
file recovery program (Data Recovery Wizard) to back up the files and then
repartitioned and formatted the partition. There may be other ways of
fixing it so hang tight and wait for other responses if you don't have
recovery software.

In diskmgmt.msc,L.click the hd,go to actions,all,set as active.Reopen
actions,set drive letter/path,set letter.If tried before,open
system,advanced,
virtual memory, set hd as page file "let system manage",click set 2X,restart
pc,back in xp,retry diskmgmt..Also,move hd to other IDE connection, set jumper
pins as needed.

I don't know if this is feasible but maybe you can create a new partition
with a drive letter and copy all the info, then delete the old partition.
