A few weeks ago, my laptop (Sony VAIO Pro 13 with Windows 8) started crashing occasionally, always when I wake it from hibernation. I set my laptop to do nothing when I close the lid and to hibernate when I press the power button, and I rarely shut it down.
When the crash happens, the screen freezes for a moment and then I get a BSOD with the description "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION". This doesn't always happen, and I don't know why sometimes it crashes and other times it wakes from hibernation just fine.
