Hi All!

I've got this recurring problem.

1) A user changes their password on their XP pc connected to a W2003
domain, usually prompted by a Group Policy.
2) The user gets locked out of domain resources, loses all mapped
drives, account locked out etc.

The user has a "Stored username & password" on their pc. It did not
automatically synchronize with the new password. Locking and unlocking
the computer does not synchronize password at this point.

To recover I:

1) Delete stored credentials
2) Unlock domain account on server
3) Reboot pc
4) User can finally log in

....but this is a big pain and causes the user downtime and a support
incident. The problem is intermittent yet ongoing enough to be a head
ache.

Anyone else see this issue or have a solution? Or know why the
password does not synch automatically?

Hello Jam,

The password change is requested during the logon, after username, password
and domain filled in?

Best regards

hi,
stored credentials are saved accross the sessions when you access a network
resource with another user and password and you chech the remember
password,in that case the stored credentials arent syncronized. If is the
same user that is logedin on workstation the credentials are syncronized when
it make a logoff/logon not lock/lockout the system.
