Does having a "Wireless Zero Configuration" service in services mean that i have a wireless adapter

Hi , this is my first question in Microsoft forum, I try to connect my old computer which i haven't been using for 6 years to internet but im not successful . I think my pc doesn't have a wireless adapter . But in services i have a service called "Wireless Zero Configuration" . Does it mean i have a wireless
adapter or even the pc's without wirless card's do have such service running ? P.S. - I'm using XP
