I am working on an Intel Pentium3 running XP pro, which recently went through
a couple of software restores up from Windows 98, to fix a problem. Now
there are multiple folders in the hard drive labeled Documents and Settings
(0000,0001,0002). Is this a problem, and is there some way I can consolidate
these files , of it is? Everything else seems to work fine, but I wouldn't
know for sure. Thanks you for your help.

You can consolidate them, but to do so, you need to know the target folders.
Try this: Create a text file titled "correctprofile.txt" and put it on the
desktop. It doesn't matter what the contents are.

Now, search for the text file. The Documents and Settings structure that
it's in is the one in use by Windows.
