Hi,

We are using a Windows 8.1 system running a Windows Desktop application in a kiosk application. The machine is a standard desktop PC with a seperate touchscreen, and customers have figured out that they can swipe the left and right edges of the screen to bring up the Charms bar etc.

We have disabled the 'hot corners', but it still remains possible to swipe in from the edge of the screen to bring up these bars. Many hours of searching have not yielded a solution - most users with this problem seem to be having the same issue when they swipe the edge of their trackpad, and there are numerous reports that the "feature" can be disabled in the mouse/trackpad settings, but the machine appears to be using the inbuilt (Microsoft) mouse driver and there is no option to disable edge swipes.

I have even installed Classic Start Menu and while this seems to have got rid of most of the metro stuff, it again only allows me to disable the hot corners and not disable the swipe gestures.

Can someone please tell me how to disable this? I have one seriously unhappy customer as his customers keep using his kiosk machine to browse the internet! There must be a way to do it.

Regards,

Rowan
