I have a problem with my HTC Touch HD T8282 with Windows Professional 6.1 installed, when I synchronize on a computer running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007 installed:
Whatever name I give the device the system automatically switches to the name you want. Example: I have assigned HTCesc_Touch_HD (also set on another PC with Windows XP and in the car with Parrot) and Windows Mobile Device Center automatically switches me names like HTC46 or HTC84. No way, I've tried everything.
In contrast, in another PC, it also sync with HTC but with Windows XP and Activesync 4.5 installed, no problem keeping the device name.
I want to assign the name I want, not what the system decides. Especially because I have two identical phones with two different SIM, and I want to differentiate on the network, or the parrot on my car, and no doubt perfectly.
Do you have a solution to this? I searched in many forums over the network specialist and there are many people espousing the problem but no way to fix it.
