I have a laundry list of problems. All revolving around saving system
settings / registry recording non recording issue.
1) Desktop icons keep getting scrambled at startup. Even after
Refreshing the desktop before shut down.
2) Notification Area (lower right corner). Power, Network, & Speaker
icons take turns not showing up at startup.
3) Notification icons loose there Hide, Hide When inactive, Show
designations.
4) I'm giving a presentation icon keeps popping up sometimes at startup
and won't go away.

Help with these issues would be great.

Your laundry list might be caused by various different causes. Experts may
like to scratch their heads over these problems. Although you will note, no
expert has responded to your very wide request.

I (no expert) have the view that after 6 to 9 months, no more than a year,
most computers acquire a number of quirks, glitches and annoyances, quite
apart from malware, that the only thing to do is back up your data (if you
haven't done so already) and reformat your hard drive. It will take a day and
a half to get the basics all going again, but the problems will usually all
have disappeared: until the next time, that is.
