Hello,

I use IE7 and FireFox. I want to view a .mpg file in the browser in WMP11.
The file type is set to run WMP. But, I keep getting Quicktime in the
browsers, which doesn't recognise the file format.

How do I get vthe browsers to run the file in WMP?

Thanks,
Steve

I had this same question a few weeks ago. Use the "Set Program Access and
Defaults" from the start menu. You may have to enable this by right
clicking the Start button and choosing properties.

Launch QuickTime Player
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences
Click QuickTime Preferences...
Select the Browser tab, and click MIME Settings...
Disable MPEG related entries there.

Thank you very much for your replies. That has sorted out the issue and all
is now well.

Kind regards,
Steve

I set a killbit and unchecked it in IE.

Rather strange. I couldn't get IE7 to play .mpg files when you clicked on
them. The problem was solved when I installed Quicktime which plays .mpg
files on my machine with no difficulty.
