Critical update that uploads and makes all my font turn to 00000000 I can not get rid of it

I keep getting a critical update called Definition Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (Definition 1.147.330.0) that uploads and makes all my font turn to 00000000
I can not get rid of the update and am running out of restore dates, what can I do? This has been happening for a few days now and is causing me many problems.
