I think my instance of Installshield may be corrupted.

Is it possible to reinstall Installshield? If so, how is this done? I use
WinXP/2 in a laptop.

Peter.

Hi PVR,

You don't mention why or what error message you receive that makes you think
InstallShield may be corrupted.......have a look at this listing of error
messages and see if any are applicable to your situation:

Hi Patti.

Many thanks for your quick reply. I had hoped to keep my question as short
as possible. Here is additional info.

1). I did not receive an error message.

2). My cable company was Adelphia but that company went bankrupt and was
acquired by Time Warner. My new ISP(?) is Road Runner. With Adelphia I used
a suite of malware apps which will terminate July 31. As of that date I must
use a malware suite from Road Runner (CA 2007). In order to install the anti
malware suite from Road Runner I must first uninstall Freedom.

3). In Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs Freedom is listed but a size is not
shown. Initiating Remove has no effect and Freedom is still fully
functional.

4). I also tried Start>Programs>Freedom, etc. Again, no success. During this
attempt I did receive a message that a certain file was in the wrong place
and would I like to correct this. I said no and I believe the file was
deleted. The filename was something like "ld?.exe.

5). I have assumed, probably incorrectly, that the deleted file was
something to do with InstallShield.

6). I have contacted both Freedom and Road Runner but each of these points
to the other. Meanwhile I am approaching the time when I shall have no
protection from malware.

Please can you tell me how to uninstall Freedom without going through
Control Panel or Start>Programs, etc?

Peter.

You're welcome for the quick reply :-) I don't blame you for trying to keep
your query as short as possible.......it's difficult to know, sometimes, when
one is going to lose potentially interested helpers by giving too much
information to wade through.

See if the information in either of these Adelphia KB articles helps you to
uninstall Freedom:
