Got the blue screen of death..
restarted and the computer had to check the file system, said it found a
couple minor errors and fixed them.. NOW my folder in Documents and Settings
that had My Docs and Pictures ect is empty and access is denied.....
heelllppp..... is there anyway to fix the file system so I can read the
folder. I have changed nothing on the drive since the scandisk fix.... I
have it as a secondary drive at the moment.
Thanks

If the hd is no longer your boot drive, ie the drive is installed as slave,
then likely you will have to take ownership of the folders in order to
see/open them.
see win help 'take ownership'

Well, gave that a try, but I already had ownership. I switched it around to
see if it made any difference, but it did not, I have ownership and access
is still denied and the folder properties shows no files or folders.
The HD is no longer my boot drive it is a slave. I can see and access every
folder accept this one. Since this folder was the used folder for pictures,
my docks, music etc.. I assume a file or folder was corrupt in that user
folder and when the auto disk check fix the file it screwed the file system
for that folder.
thanks for this advise, still need more help.
