comp locked itself off Internet ? winxp pro-ie7

Yesterday, I got messages saying "threat detected" This happened on on various

files. I sent them to the virus vault. Then uninstalled the particular
files, then

scanned with AVG 7.5. It located more threats which it sent to the vault. I
then

scanned with lavasoft ad-aware, which found 18 critical objects, which I
deleted.

But now I can't get the comp to open onto the Internet. When I d' click ie
on the

desk top, nothing happens. It won't open when web file in links either. I
have

searched through the AVG help and win help, but can't see what to do to get
the

comp open onto the Internet.

I would "very" grateful of any assistance please.

to get more accurate help.

You may try to restore important system files:
start / run / sfc /scannow

You may also reinstall IE7
