Cleaning Files...

Hello All,
I was cleaning up my computer today and came across a few files which I need cleaned up.

1. C:\Program~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL - I tried locating this file to delete it but it was not found on my computer.

2. C:\Windows\Living 3D Dolphins.scr - I also tried deleting this one but was not able to.

The .DLL comes up everytime the computer is booted up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The file is most likely part of whatever application resides in that directory (from the naming similarity, a somewhat important one). If you no longer use the app, you should use the Add/Remove Programs dialog to properly uninstall it (catching any other DLLs or registry entries you might otherwise miss). If you use the app, it would probably be best to leave the file alone.

That screensaver you downloaded probably came from a site that packages spyware into there apps, this is a VERY COMMON situation, if you look in ADD/REMOVE programs, you will probably find other MYSTERIOUS apps that were never installed before, usually they say something about coupons, or savings, or add-on, or toolbar, its hard to say which you have, but I'm almost 100% positive you will find them there. UNINSTALLING them should fix your problem, but you may need to follow up with an anti spyware program.
