changing the default web browser

It was convenient to change my default web browser from Firefox to IE. When
Firefox was the default browser, Control panel>Internet
Options>Programs>Programs, the switch to IE was intuitive. Proprietary
interest seems to have trumped functionality.
Following that same path, the option to switch browsers no longer exists.

How can I reinstall FF as my default browser?

In Firefox, click on Tools -> Options. Look in the System Defaults section of
the Main page for the Check Now. Hitting this button will allow you to make
Firefox your default web browser.

For more info look under System Defaults in this article.

To change through Windows, do the following.

Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Set Program Access and
Defaults -> Custom -> Choose a default Web browser.

For more info, check the following article.

Good luck
