I'm trying to get an old Celeron 433 MHz processor to work with 128 MB memory modules (PC-100 SDRAM). However, it refuses to recognize more than 64 MB per module/slot. Is this a normal limitation or can I do something about it?

It's probably more of a chipset issue than anything. When 433 was a popular speed, I'm not even sure if I had 64MB in my whole system ...

You may be able to get larger modules to work with a different motherboard; I'm not familiar with Celeron-compatible chipsets, but there may be a higher-end part that will do the trick.

Thanks for the swift reply, Gavin. Spending money on that old machine is not really an option, so I'll just live with it.
