when I put a blank dvdrw in my dvd burner I no longer get the pop up screen
asking if I want to format it, and if I use windows explorer to view the
disc, I get
device is not accessible, nothing is wrong with the drive, I can boot to w2k
and access it just fine and burn dvdrw's just fine.
it just happens within xp pro, same thing with cdrw's and if I put in one
that has data on it, it will mark it as full.

I resolved my problem, by doing two things.

1. SFC /Scannow
2. went into windows explorer under properties and recording tab and
rechecked the enable burning on this device, it wasn't there before I did the
SFC.

They work fine now.
