Card reader + Flash drive won't run at the same time

Hello,
I have a system it has been working OK with several USB devices such
as flash drives. I've bought a SD card reader and connected, it's
recognized successfully but it generated lots of event id: 17 and 168
error logs in "event viewer". I couldn't mean because i was copying
bi-
directonal good with no error logs.

Additionaly, i connected my flash drive while USB SD card reader is
being connected, but it couldn't be recognized... If i unplug SD card
reader, flash drive works very good.

i tried these hardwares on another XP SP2 machine with
NO problems.

Why does Windows 2000 have lots of bugs especially for new drives
like
SD readers?

The error logs were so frustrating. The message appears in "event
viewer" everytime i access or everytime OS access during boot up with
no specific dialog box message:

RSM cannot manage library <storage device name>. It encountered an
unspecified error. This can be caused by a number of problems
including, but not limited to, database corruption, failure
communicating with the library, or insufficient system resources.

I don't know but i haven't had this on XP SP2, however i may re-try
on
XP if it appears or won't.

If anyone explain these, i'd be very happy:

1-Why SD card reader and flash drive do not work when they're
connected at the same time? (Flash drive can't be recognized till i
unplug SD reader)

2-Why are there lots of error logs appear in "event log" when i use
my
SD-reader?

Thanks...

I want to update: Today i plugged card reader and flash drive into
different BACK-PANEL USB ports instead of front panel. It worked but i
don't know why it didn't work under WinXP SP2 and W2k?

Any comments?

As per your second post, it seems that your 'root' USB hubs are not
providing enough power over the USB ports. The USB ports on the
motherboard are known as the "root" USB hubs and each are to provide
500 mA of power per port. However, my experience is that these "root"
hubs have two (2) ports paired and you seem to only get 500 mA per
pair.

The front panel ports are provided through motherboard (Asus p4b533)

Today i connected a rear -panel header but i'll see in future how
it'll effect. Thanks.
