Called to a friends house today for problems with hotmail account, fixed that but noticed he only had AVG 8.5, tried to update to 2012 version, update failed. removed AVG 8.5, then tried to download latest version. failed!, tried Microsft security essentials, also failed. Went into windows update that is not working either due to active x control? looked at system info, he only has service pack 2. Tied to download service pack 3 that also failed! Am I going to have to re install the operating systenm to solve these problems.
He has windows XP home with service pack 2. internet explorer 7.
