i get an error message that says line 4 of
"C:\$WIN_NT$~LS386\asms\IOOO\MSFT/WINDOWS\GDIPLUS.MAN" has a syntax error. is
there any way to rewrite this line so that it's correct? or can the whole
thing be downloaded, then burned onto a disc, then installed onto the
computer i'm having the problem on? i'm what i call "computer illiterate", so
any help in this is greatly appreciated.

What is the history of the machine in terms of operating system.

What is your CPU Processor (could it be a Prescott?)

This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about
your computer:
Everest Home Edition (freeware)

Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight
required text, right click and select copy. However, whilst this is
fine for posting small amounts of information into newsgroup messages
longer reports will irritate other newsgroup subscribers.
