can't download email using outlook express

I am getting the following error messages from Outlook Express and can't download incoming email to my inbox or send via Outlook Express........'The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E'and 'An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0133'I have Outlook Express 6 of 2004. All other functions that I use on the internet (browse, skype etc etc) are all working so it's not my internet connection.......I am using webmail as a workaround but must solve this problem. my service provider has checked all the relevant bits at their end and can find no problem
