So, by Vista implementing DEP, UAC, non-Admin accounts, it is actually a
step forward to protect the OS from the applications?! Wow. Who would have
even suggested such a thing!?
Yes, that was sarcasm. Yes, the applications are usually the entry point
in cracking a system. But, once they find an exploit in the app, they
shouldn't have any control over the OS...
Of course, I think that more and more attacks are from mis-informed
consumers, malware, viruses... They can get into a system and make that
system a bot in a SPAM attack, DOS attack, or more.
