All of a sudden, I cannot open Microsoft Word attachments or from "documents"

Are you able to just open the application (not the files)?

What did you try to move?

Have you done anything recently right before you noticed this particular
problem?

Have you tried using System Restore to a date before you noticed this
particular problem?

Try locating the file "normal.dot" and rename it to "normal.old", and
restart Word.

Daave, I am not sure about opening just the application??? I cannot get
anything when selecting "word" from the start up menu or any other place. The
"Microsoft Word 2000" banner comes up with microsoft office in small letters.
It then goes to the Word page but nothing appears on the page. The "working"
hour glass remains on, but it appears to be lock up. I moved the Word
document to the desk top and still got the same results. I have not done
anything recently that may have caused the problem. It starated some days
ago. I could not open an e-mail attachment in Word. I could save it in
"documents" and could then open it. That lasted two days and now it doesen't
work anymore. I tried to use the system restore, but the available dates are
after the problem started. I am sure this does not make sense, but would very
much appreciate any help.
Thanks
Galen

Hotmail isn't an application.

Do you use the Web interface, Outlook, or Outlook Express?

Also, try http://www.elamb.org/howto/normal-dot.htm for creating a fresh
normal.dot file.

No problem. Did you try Patrick's suggestion (of creating a fresh
