Cannot make files "offline"

I'm setting up a notebook and trying to set-up "offline files." I have
enabled Offline Files in the Folder Options and checked all the boxes.
According to all the manuals, the next step would be to select the desired
directory and choose "Make Available Offline" or something to this extent
from the File Menu. This option is not availbe. I've tried selecting the
entire network share/drive, a folder on the share, and a file on the share.
Nothing.

Any ideas?

It's not on the "File" menu - it's on the "Right-Click" menu.....

Checked there too. Nothing.

Also, I noticed there was a similar problem when I searched MS for the error
- but the solution was to install SP2. I have already done such.

OK are you setting the "Enable Off-line files" on the machine which will be
actually be using the off-line files? Are you then going to My Network
Places, right-clicking on the network folder that contains the files you
want to use off-line?

Yup.

No. We have the share being mapped to the user, currently their "z" drive.
That is what I'm trying to make offline. I've tried doing the whole drive,
then folders and files in the drive. No luck.

So not to really sound stupid, but do I need to select the folder from
Network Neighborhood?

Try it - I had HUGE problems with my off-line files not working yesterday,
and I think (but I'm not sure) that if I tried to make a named share
off-line then it didn't work, whereas if I went through the Entire Network
and did it, it did.
