Can Vista work on XP machine with win7 drivers?

When you're talking about a possibly older machine you are using with a new OS, how older the motherboard/chipset/PC brand etc is, the default IDE/chipset/video drivers can come into play there as well as direct X and media player updates that correspond and interact with the afore mentioned Choppy DVD could be older drivers -- usually is, or drivers that are not playing well with the SATA/IDE drivers (be it native OS or installed).

That pc was made for a long time anjd was originally a Compaq unit HP inherited, but it appears to have been with Ddr memory and ide hard drives so we are looking at a pretty old series here and Catch is quite right.
