Installing from an XP Home CD will not result in an XP Pro installation even
if the Pro product key would work with the CD.

Not the same product on the Windows XP Home CD as is on the Windows XP
Professional CD.
If you can get *ANY* Full Retail Windows XP Professional CD (assuming your
product key is for a full retail Windows XP CD) --> then your Windows XP
Professional product key *will* work with it.

No, you cannot. No copy of XP Home can install XP Pro. You will need a
copy of the XP Pro CD that matches yours.
