I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 installed. I purchased the partial upgrade to 8 thing, but it destroyed everything so I reinstalled the 7 and in the process lost the cd drive (won't open). This forum couldn't solve the problem, so I bought a new Lenovo laptop with 8 installed and upgraded to 8.1 when it became available.
I hate it, have hated it from day 1, and can't stand it any more. The latest issue has me looking at linux.
Since the Toshiba is not usable, can I use its license to downgrade the Lenovo from 8.1 to 7? (I realize I would be retiring the Toshiba) If so, how would I proceed?
