calendar issues

I have an issue with my bosses windows surface rt calendar. It is very rarely connected to the internet, but when she does connect all the most of the appointments she has added are deleted off. I am assuming this is happening when it syncs but can't work out why. And am now left with the task of recovering everything she has lost. Is their anyone who can suggest how I might get the info back and stop it happening again, short of telling her never to connect to the internet again.
