After installing windows XP pro updates on 9th April 2013 (or there abouts) my computer now takes about 35 minutes to boot up (was about 5 mins before). During this time the CPU is only working between 0% - 1%. After about 35 mins the CPU starts working
as normal. When i use system restore to go back to 8th April 2013 (ie before the updates) the boot up time goes back to normal. Boot up time is also normal when i boot up in safe mode. I have checked for viruses etc using security essentials and malwarebytes
and my system is clean. I have also performed chkdsk /r. How can i fix this?
