Being able to post messages

I'm running out of PCs to post messages with. It seems like I get a few
weeks of messages with each PC. I'm finally down to my laptop and yesterday
after I installed 4 updates I wasn't able to post here anymore. I did a total
wipe out of my hard drive and now it's like factory new. Wiped the hard drive
clean and now this thing is running like a fine tuned race car. This Dell
9400 was bogging down to the point where I couldn't close a webpage and half
the time I'd get an error message saying report or don't report and the other
half time I'd have to go into Task Manager to end the program. I'd try to
maximize here and only half the page would max out and the program would stop
responding. Now I am running great and I recommend to anyone having the same
problems to do the same thing after backing up their important data.

That's good, but it isn't necessary for most people. Case in point: I
just retired my XP setup on this machine last month and performed a
clean install of Vista.

Prior to that installation, XP had been running sweetly - without any
degradation in speed that I was aware of - for 7 years and 5 months.

OK... I did build a new machine almost 2 years ago, but when I did
that, all I did was clone the former drive to a newer/faster one and
then did a repair install to get things up to date with new drivers.
