Error message "The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The
operation was aborted."
This is at the beginning of the operation. I understood that the prompt for
the recovery diskette is after the backup is completed.
Using SP2

I've got the same problem...let me know if you find a solution

Feritay:
Thanks for the link. It does look promising but will it allow the backup to
proceed if the system thinks I have complied with its requirements? I'll try
it Monday evening and see what happens. If you try it first I'd appreciate
knowing your experience and I will post a result.

I've given up....it looks sketchy. I'm copying Documents and Settings to a
second hard drive and I'll reload XP and other programs from the original
CD's when the big crash comes.
