Brian B.

I am unable to get my scheduled backups to run. HELP!!!!

I am using Microsoft Backup in Windows XP Professional with an HP
Storageworks DDS3 tape drive.

I am able to do manual, (backup now), backups just fine.

I have scheduled backups to run nightly, but they do not even start.

Here's what I have tried:
-- using the Administrator as the account for the backups to run as.
-- created and tried using a Backup User account for the backups to run as.
-- had the Backup utility open on the screen during the scheduled backup
times.
-- had the Backup utility open and minimized during the scheduled backup
times.
-- had the Backup utility closed during the scheduled backup times.

I have double-checked, and the Task Scheduler service is running.

Please help!
Any suggestions that I may try?

Have you tried using the backup software if provided with the drive instead of
using MS BU?

Have you made sure all configurations for the drive are set properly?
Have you tried the troubleshooting?
Have you installed any of the required patches if needed?
