Awful Windows XP Audio Lag (Laptop)

Hello there everyone. I have a very irritating issue on my XP machine. I just recently installed a fresh copy of XP on my machine and its so fast! I use it for offline work and it is very efficient. But I have a very irritating Issue. The sound lags and lags and lags... Its horrible! I got the most recent drivers, I have no viruses on my PC, I went through the trouble shooter and that didnt help at all! Also I have been trying to solve this for months now... So if Anyone has any solutions please leave a answer. I also reduced Hardware acceleration and it helped slightly... PLEASE HELLPPPP
