Autoplay Brings Up Window of CD Instead of Install

When I put in an install CD, Windows XP brings
up a window with the contents of the CD instead
of running the install program. I've tried checking
the Registry entries a Microsoft Knowledge Base
article says to check when you have autoplay problems
and I ran a autoplay fix program I downloaded from
Microsoft's site, but the problem is still there.
Any ideas?

Hi David,

Open My Computer, right-click the drive-letter for the CD drive and choose Properties. Click "AutoPlay". For each of the content types listed in the drop-down, select the option "Prompt me each time to choose an action" or simply click "Restore Defaults". Click OK.

Thanks for the reply, but I'd already tried that. Everything
is set at the default of Choose an Action, but it still does the
same thing.

With some discs auto-run is disabled for any instance after the software has
already been installed. In that case if you want to re-install over top of
the original installation for any reason you'd have to browse to the
Install or Setup EXE file to run it manually.
