Automatic Shutdown and error message

I have been receiving a fatal error message when I try to send email (Outlook
in Office Pro 2003).

The message reads “DCOM server process launcher terminated unexpectedly". I
then receive a box to send the notification to MS and then two more boxes
with something about NT Authority/System.

I researched the issue and thought/think it is a variant of the Win32.Poza
worm but mine only happens when sending email.

I ran the cleaning program provided by me virus scan vendor but that didn't
find anything.

Has anyone heard of this? If so, what is it and how do I fix it?

Paul,

What is the Event ID in the Event Viewer for this error?

Maybe 1000 or 10021. If the latter then its a socket error

Awaiting your reply,

Newbie,

I haven't captured it. Next time it happens I'll let you know. By the way,
frequency is increasing
