The last two nights windows has tried to apply an auto update to my window Vista ultimate system, the system has been functioning fine but after I shut down the system and the update is downloaded which seems to go fine, when bringing up the system and
allowing the update to configure, it never completes, it gets to a point where there is a background image and the cursor is active but noting else is visible or able to be accessed. After waiting for hours, my only option is to cut the power, enter safe
more and restore the system to the state prior to the update. What should I do?
