Auto Hibernate Problems

I am unable to Automaically Hibernate when I have certain networked programs
open.

I am able to manually Hibernate via start/shutdown - Hibernate with the same
programs open.

I am using Windows XP SP2 and it also happens with our Windows 2000 machines
and PCs with different specs.

Is there a way to counter this problem?

one aspect that is overlooked
with hibernation or standby
is that the cpu must be idle
for a period of time before the
special power features engage.

if the cpu is busy, then it will
never initiate a countdown
to initiate the special power
features.

another way to see this is that
the cpu is being kept busy by
an active process, whether it
be a human user or a skillfully
designed program that is running
without user intervention.

a third party screensaver is one
such program that keeps the cpu
busy. but there are many others.

Thanks for your thoughts,
I have been tested the Hibernation on 1min settings and we dont have screen
savers.

I have almost abondoned this setting, it seems like it has too many uselss
dependancies.

I have been playing around with scheduled tasks that ticks over on idle
times. Which works flawlessly except when I come out of Hibernation and reach
the user/locked screen if i dont move the mouse in 1-2 seconds it
rehibernates.... (its suppost to be triggered in 1min, have tried 5min
aswell)

oh well, ill play around with it more and propbally post my new problem!
