I have recently been receiving error messages when I attempt to boot into one of the windows OS on my computer. I have dual boot, not by choice but by chance. When I first set up windows on my computer after a crash it kept on rebooting and having me to re-install the program. Each time it would request a log on in order to verify the OS by Internet. At any rate I ended up with three copies of WinXP on one computer.

I have never had a problem until recently when the system was updated automatically through windows update program with SP2 for the second time. Now I can't boot into the other copies on my computer, I get this error message each time.

Auto check not found. The session manager initialization system process terminated expectantly with a status of oxc000003A. There were other codes that followed but I only wrote this one down. Does anyone have a clue as to what this message is all about and how this can be fixed.

Your primary partition needs to be set active. There is a fix in SP2 that causes the problem.
Best thing to do is get a copy of Partition Magic boot disks. Boot with them and then set your primary partition to active.
You can also use fdisk to set it to active.
