Hi,
My vista home basic installation, installed on an intel motherboard and
realtek audio driver, works fine when connected through the back panel of my
case - but just will not see or connect to the audio sockets on the front
panel.
This is all the more strange cos when I change OS (and not anything else)
Linux works fine with both front and back connections for recording and
playing (input and output)
In vista, when i look from Control Panel at my audio devices, the native
windows Sound info window telld me only the back panel connection exists for
output, but that a front panel input socket exists but is not connected
(although my headset is plugged in).
The Realtek audio info window (from Control Panel) tells me there are front
and back panel connections but the front panel cinnections are greyed out.

Can anyone help me get this darned thing to work properly.??
