Hi

I am running Windows XP Home on a Gateway machine. I recently updated my
Video card to a HIS Radion X1650 Pro.

Since then I am receiving Windows Explorer crashes with the following error
message:
App Version 6.0.2900.2180
atimcenc.dll
mod version 9.14.0.60829
offset 0063054

I also noticed a error on my AV One Pro Video conversion program.

Thinking it might be a bad install, I deleted the card and programs in Safe
mode and reinstalled with the same problems. A web search for a possible
solution found nothing

Any advice or thoughts appreciated
Thanks
Rick

That is a library file for your ATI video driver package. You might try
reinstalling the video drivers for your graphics adapter. If that won't do
it try here.

What firewall software are you running? I've noticed that some firewall
programs tend to cause issues with installing new hardware drivers and
random software. Try disabling the firewall during a reinstall or repair
install and then reactivate the firewall. Just something that has worked for
me many times with corrupt installations :-)

Hello Rick,
I recently have had the same problem as you.
I'm running an XP machine with an ATI Radeon 9550.
I contacted ATI, and they said most likely OS drivers were
not up to date? So I updated ALL my drivers, and even uninstalled
the ATI CControl and re-installed it, with no joy. I disabled my
firewall (BlackIce) and tried again, still get the error. I have since
contacted
ATI, and heard nothing back yet. How did you fix your problem?
Or have you fixed it yet? I too have looked on the internet, and all
I seem to find are your posts, hehe.
Thanks
Greg

been upgrading from my old nvidia card and bought a new ati HD2600,
ever since i've been facing this silly problem,
the solution is very simple, u wont believe it guys, but it worked for
me,
just rename the damn file (atimcenc.dll) to something else or just
delete it!!!
yea, i know sounds like a nooby solution but it WORKS!!!
