My system has me locked out. There is apparently a Windows "password" which prevents me from using my computer.
The hard drive and motherboard were replaced late last year due to a lightning strike. Windows 8 was re-installed (without my being asked by the ALL-KNOWING-ALL-SEEING GEEK SQUAD - I hate it). I had purchased another system as I needed to keep working. Now several months later when I go to get on my q500 Windows 8 it opens to the initial login page and asks for the last password I used on the system. THERE WAS NONE. I never used a login or password as I am an independent contractor.
I have tried everything I can think of. I am about ready to blow a gasket. This is specifically one of the reasons I HATE Microsoft and Windows 8 - all my control is taken away on MY computer. How can I enter a password I do not have? I entered all the Windows Live password combinations I could think of and had recorded. I HAD TO AGREE TO ASSIGN ONE to use "MICROSOFT" software on MY computer.
So, where would MICROSOFT like me to send the computer and the bill for it? Because it's obviously far more owned by Microsoft than it is by me; and ASUS can't help because it's a MICROSOFT WINDOWS issue.
