Apple has hired Ari Partinen, former senior camera engineer at Nokia for their Lumia Pureview system, presumably to work on the next generation of iPhone and iPad cameras. Word of the move came from Partinen himself on Twitter:
Today will be my last day working for the amazing #Lumia family. In June I will start a new chapter in Cupertino, California. Much love!

Partinen confirmed in a reply that the company he's moving to in Cupertino is indeed Apple.

Unlike Apple, which has focused most of their camera power on image signal processors (ISP) in chipsets like the Apple A7, Lumia is famous for their optics, up to and including the massive 41 megapixel Carl Zeis lens on their Lumia 1020
What, if anything, this may mean when it comes to the cameras and optics on future devices remains to be seen. If you've used a Lumia PureView camera, is the any part of it you would like to see Apple bring to the iPhone... and iPad?
