I am trying to install Skype and other Apps on Windows 8 and keep getting the well known failure code 0x800700b7.

The 4 methods recommended by other users in the forum (back on Jan-9, 2013 [see below]) didn't work.

Do you have any other suggestion?

Method 1:

Step1: Running the Modern UI App troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Please go to the following link and follow troubleshooting steps given.

Step 2: Please go through the following link for troubleshooting.

Method 2: Clear the cache from Windows store. Please follow the steps given below.

a. Press "Windows+R" key on the keyboard to open Run window.

b.In the Run window type "wsreset.exe" and then click ok it will clear all the cache in Windows store

Method 3: Temporarily disable all the security software and Place the computer in Clean Boot then check if this fixes the issue.

Step 1: Please disable the Microsoft or any Security software if you have on your system.

You can follow the steps given below to turn off Windows Firewall.

a. Press Windows Key + X key.

b.Select Control Panel.

c. Click on Windows Firewall.

d.Select the Radio buttons Turn off Firewall under Private and Public network settings

Warning: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 2: Please follow the steps given below to place the computer in Clean Boot

Note: After you are done with all the steps perform Step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual.

Method 4: Perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.
