After having created a short film surrounding the World Cup, Beats Music is back in the film arena again marching to the beats of its own Beats with Spike Lee. In its latest video venture, Beats has created a 25th anniversary documentary of Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing aptly titled Do the Right Thing 25 Anniversary: A Beats Music Experience.
The film is released on Beat's official YouTube page. Leveraging its own brand in the music business, the film also shows Beats throwing a party to celebrate the film's release with celebrity guest appearances like Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle, Wesley Snipes, and Public Enemy.
Will Beats transform Apple's iTunes into its own production studio with its own release in the future is anyone's guess, but it shows the power of the Beats brand in marketing and why Apple may have been interested in Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre when it acquired the music and headphone brand.
What do you think of the film? How do you think Apple could better leverage Beats?
