I just installed all the March 2013 windows updates, there were about 3 or 4 of them I believe. One of them is KB 2807986. It seems that as soon as I install Windows Update KB 2807986 my computer will never shut down properly. When I choose start, shut down,
or reboot, it will stay stuck on the 'shutting down' screen for hours. The only way to shut it down is to hit the power button.
Thinking there may be a problem with windows update, I tried to install it using the update file from the windows update catalog site, but the same problem happens if I do that.
As soon as I uninstall KB 2807986, my computer shuts down properly again. Windows Update KB 2807986 is the only update that causes this problem.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
I should be able to install this update and not have a problem rebooting or shutting down.
