Windows NT After applying Service Pack 2 - Remote Desktop does not work on a windows 2003 Enterprise Server

Sabo, Eric

We applied Service Pack 2 to a Windows 2003 enterprise Server. Now when
we try a remote desktop connection to this server we are getting "This
computer can't connect to the remote computer." This worked prior to
Service Pack 2 just fine.

Any help would be helpful on this issue.

Thanks,
Eric Sabo

There have been quite some reports about this problem.
Have you checked if the server is listening on port 3389?
Type "netstat -an" (without the quotes) in a command window on the
console of the server.

Yes - nothing on 3389

How does one reinstall Remote Desktop for Administration on a windows 2003?

Do you have any technet articles?

Did you check if Remote Desktop is still enabled on this machine?
SP2 setup might have disabled it (just guessing).

Thx,
Sergey.

Group Policy is still working, been on Microsoft support now for about 2
hours still not resolved. It is deeper problem than expected that was
caused by Service Pack 2.
