After a virus attack old programmes on my computer were what I can only assume was compressed.

The old Programmes and data were on my computer along with my new ones. When my computer went in to have a virus removed they must have
compressed? my old programmes and one of the folders is showing $NTUninstallMSCompPackV1$ some sort of uninstall software. Can I somehow
access my old programmes and data by uninstalling the CompPack? Although I manage to sort most things out this is way beyond me
